1. Fine : This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing : This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4. Go Ahead : This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5. Loud Sigh : This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of

6. That's Okay : This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks : A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.

8 . Whatever : Is a woman's way of saying Screw you!

I have a dark secret...

I have a thing for.......I'm not sure if I should say, what will you think? Oh well, balls out here I go!

I have a thing for Mascara. It is an absolute must for me. It has been part of my daily ritual since the 8th grade, when I got straight A's to earn the right to wear it. (Of course, by the time my sister's were in 8th grade, they didn't have to earn anything, and could paint themselves up like $4 hussies... anyhow, another time another post).

I am on a constant search for the perfect mascara. Literally constant, anytime a new one comes out, I try it. Sometimes I feel bad for the mascaras, they know I am not faithful. I mean right now I have 6 different tubes in my make-up drawer, I can just imagine the tension when I close it every morning. The angry words exchanged between them all. I can almost hear them saying "Pick me, Pick me," when my hand reaches in there each morning. I feel bad that I favor a few over the other ones, I can't imagine how sad they must feel. Probably how my siblings feel knowing that I am my parents absolute favorite( he he he), or my dates of the past, wondering who I was going to choose for the night.

I have always been a girl who likes to keep her options open, I like to take every road that I can before I make a final decision. For instance, before Jon and I got engaged, we broke up for a week. I knew that if we got back together we would get married, and I wanted to make sure that was right. So during that week, I went out on a different date every night. Trying on all those different guys, making sure I got the absolute right fit for me. (Jon on the other hand stayed at home and was miserable without me, so sometimes I feel a little bit bad about this, but not too much. I was having fun living it up!)

Anyhow, I need to get to my point. I have found my mascara husband. I am ready for a committed relationship. Granted I will still use my Waterproof Mac Pro Lash on those rare swimming, beach, funeral occasions. But besides that, (unless I run out and don't have the time or money to head over to Sephora to get a new one) I will wholeheartedly agree to be your partner for as long as we both shall live (unless your creators come up with something even more amazing).

Oh yea, it is called Diorshow, go out and get it today! You won't be sorry, it is sooooo worth it. I can't stop looking at my lashes, I am so glad I got waxed last night!

P.S. I have huge news from my birthday happenings, but I am having problems with one of my presents, so stay tuned for more later on...

Birthday wishes...

I wish:

I could go out to breakfast with a friend
( Oh yea, I am meeting Dorothy for bagels)

I could go out to lunch with some friends
( Oh yea, I am meeting Jen & Holly at Chandler Mall)

I could have ice cream with the kids and favorite people
(Oh yea, had a fabulous time sitting on the patio at Mary Coyle's last night)

That I will get some new perfume...

That my kids will be good today...

That I was moved back into my house...

That this will be a most fabulous birthday...

That my sister would wax me today, seriously, it is getting ugly...
I took a picture, but it is too gross to post!

P.S. How old do you think I am? I'd be interested to see some guesses, and I hope they don't make me cry!

Our weekend...

So the kids were not very happy with us when we decided that we really shouldn't go on the campout. Jon really needed Saturday to work on the house, seeing as how we are now behind schedule. So to make it up to them, Jon still took a half day, and we took them to Amazing Jake's. We were thinking everyone else would still be in school, so maybe it wouldn't be that busy, WRONG! It was still ok, and the kids had a great time. Cooper was so excited to ride in the go-karts, and LOVED playing laser tag. What a cutie he is!

We were able to find a babysitter last minute, so we could go out with Amy & CW. We ate at the new restaurant radioMILANO, which is owned by the same people who own La Grande Orange & Chelsea's Kitchen. To our surprise, there was no wait, and the food was great! We had Sashimi, Roasted Artichoke, Halibut, Foccaccia, Pasta... Yummy! Then we walked across the street to Arlecchino Gelato. Fabulous as usual! I was bummed I didn't get 2 scoops like everyone else!

Saturday Jon worked at the house, and the kids and I worked around here. My brother and his kids came over for a while, so they were all happy to see each other. My mom and I went to get pedicures, which I was in desperate need of, I was so happy she took me! Then that night after the kids went to bed, Johnny, Jimmy, Keith & CW came over to play XBOX. It was a fun night.

Yesterday church was good, we had lunch then I had to go back for a visiting teaching seminar. It was fun to sit and chat with some friends from church I never see because I am stuck over in Primary all the time. Then I came home, and everyone joined me (and I mean EVERYONE), to make this for dinner.

This morning was crazy, PICTURE DAY. Oh the wardrobe changes, the hair dilemmas, the accessories... I didn't think they would ever be ready for school! I am now supposed to be getting ready to head over to Mamie's house, for some much needed gab time, and maybe some crafting while we are at it. I just got a phone call from Dorothy, and we are going to breakfast for my birthday tomorrow, so I am so excited. I also have a lunch with my fabulous sister-in-laws sometime this week, and possible even a Girl's Night on Thursday with some friends. I think this just might turn out to be a great birthday!

Did u know?

There is a Steve & Barry's here in Phoenix?

I didn't...

I think I will be going shopping soon...

Very soon...

What time do you think they open?

Frida called...

and she wants her eyebrows back. Cami do you think you could do
anything about this? Preferrably soon, before I turn into this...

Have I mentioned lately...

how much I love Target? I don't think I have publicly declared my love for Target in quite some time, and it is much deserved!

I have had my eye on this little beauty for a few months, and even had my mom helping me buy them for my birthday. Then one day I was walking through my happy place, and I found these (pictured above). Not quite Anthropologie, but cute none the less(is that supposed to be one word, or hyphenated?), and I got the comforter, 2 shams, and the king sheet set all for a whopping $122, that would have barely paid for the shams from Anthropologie.

I wasn't quite sure, but I decided I could use the money on a whole lot more for my house, and it is still pretty cute.

Today I went to Target, and our Target is so sad right now. On October 14th the new Super Target at Christown Mall (yes I said Christown, Spectrum didn't take, just like I know in my heart that someday it will be Squaw Peak again, not Piestawa Peak... Another time, another place...), anyhow, so our Target will be closing, so there is a lot of clearance, and they are not restocking or putting up Halloween. It was sad, but I did find some good clearance deals.

All in a day (so far)

Is that the funniest thing you have ever seen?

Andy, Emma, Chloe, Salem, Buffy & Adina

If you can't do the time,
don't do the crime!

We had a fieldtrip today. I ended up chaperoning for Andy's class because Buffy's class had plenty of moms available. I had a good group of kids. The museum was fun, then we headed over to Pioneer Park for a picnic and some playtime. Cami brought me lunch, because I totally forgot to pack mine, even though I packed all of the kids... I am soooo glad it is cool today, and there is a fabulous breeze, but then we got into the hot buses, and they never really cooled down, so the drive back was a little miserable.

I am working on laundry, then I have to go back to school for Andy's Parent-Teacher conference.

Jon has been working so hard at our house, and our poor kids miss him, so last night I took them to Peter Piper Pizza for some fun. They were all so good. We were the only ones there so it was really nice and quiet. It was a very good night.

How many of oyu watched Prison Break on Monday? I am so excited to have fall tv again. Although I was really hoping to be home before it all started. It is going to make it really hard for me to want to go over and work if there are shows to be watching!

Tomorrow Jon is taking me to The Def Leppard, Styx & Foreigner concert. I am way stinkin excited, so I will let you all know how it is on Friday. We are also supposed to go camping on Friday. So as usual we have our plates very full!

Overheard so far...

While I was counting to 3 to get Cooper to pick something up or else, this is what took place while sweet Buffy helped him...

Mom said "Cooper you should really say Thank you to Buffy for helping you!"
Buffy said (this was said very snootily) "I just didn't want to see my baby brother get spanked. That is just so mean mom!"

A little later...

Andy "Who didn't flush the toilet again?" (In a very dramatic scream)
Cooper "Not me!"
Buffy "Not me!"
Chloe "Not me!"
Andy "I already know it was a girl, there is just pee and toilet paper, do I use toilet paper? No! It has to be a girl!"

That was pretty smart I thought. Hmmmm, I wonder if it has been flushed yet?!?

Chloe "Buffy you would be soooo popular if you would just get your ears pierced."
Buffy "Chloe I already am sooooo popular!"....
Buffy "Mom would you please buy me some more clip-on earrings?"

Just something I found on this blog. Do it if you want...
Last Thursday, at like 8:30 or 9:00 at night I went to Home Depot to get paint. I was looking pretty grungy, my hair was pulled up in a bun, with a little headband to keep the bangs out of my eyes, no makeup, in my painting clothes, pretty much grody all around. I get to the paint counter, and there is one of the hunkiest guys I have ever seen, with cannons for arms, working. Now I don't know about you, but our Home Depot only has weirdos working there, which I like because then I could careless about how I look.

So as I waited for my paint, he ( and the other pretty cute worker) started chatting with me, we were laughing, talking... Nothing big. They were actual workers for Behr, not Home Depot. As I was leaving, I secretly thought to myself that I needed to make my late Thursday nights my usual Home Depot Run (Liz, you know you are laughing!!!).

I go this morning, and guess who is there? No big deal, I honestly didn't think he would remember me, but he totally did!!! I was freaking out. He fixed my paint, even though he wasn't actually working. Dang it was a good trip to Home Depot!

Happy Birthday (and some other stuff too)!

So today is Cami's birthday. She's a pretty good sister to have. For the most part I don't even mind that for the past 29 years I have had my b-day lumped together with hers. She is fabulous, good at so many things it nauseates me at times. We are polar opposites when it comes to a lot of things, but I know she has pretty much always got my back (except for when I just need her to tell me she likes the paint!). Anyhow, I still have not been able to actually talk to her, so I am wishing her a Happy Birthday infront of the whole world! I love you sis! Have a great day!

This weekend was a fun weekend, Friday night we went to a wedding reception for one of Jon's old high school friends. It was fun seeing people we don't see that often. It was also annoying having to listen to all of their comments about us still living in Phoenix, asking if we send guns with our kids to school... Come on people, seriously it is getting old! There was a girl there, Jen, who I love to see, she is darling and so much fun. She said the nicest thing to me and it just made my night. She told me that she loved seeing me, because I am always smiling and laughing and happy and fun, and that it just spreads to anyone I am around. I wanted to cry it made me feel so good. I mean, I have seriously seen this girl maybe a total of 10 or 12 times in the last 12 years, and she thinks that. It was a real boost for me.

Saturday night we went out for Cami's & my b-day dinner with my mom & siblings. It was so much fun as usual. We always go to Cheesecake Factory, because it is noisy (they can't hear us quite as much), and they can seat us all together. I love the fact that Jimmy learned what it means when a girl's carpet matches the curtains. That was classic! Afterwards we headed back to mom's for dessert and games. Brent made my night when he showed up. If you are reading... What's cookin good lookin?

The freakiest/coolest part of the night was the fact that we left Chloe to babysit, and everyone survived. I could really get used to this!

This morning I was so happy to get a phone call from Dorothy, so we met up and had a bagel, and finally got to talk. It has been forever, way too long! I painted the hallway, made 2 trips to home depot, 3 trips to school, went to the grocery store, did 2 loads of laundry, blogged and now I need to get dinner started. I am beat!

I couldn't think of a title, so there is the word of the day!

I am so ready to be done with the house! I am so ready to have my husband home in the evenings. I am so ready to be able to yell at my kids when I need to, without having to feel bad that my mom is listening.

I worked hard yesterday, I knocked out the bathroom (2 coats), and part of the kitchen in about 2&1/2 hours. I did the closet, and the bathroom (a different color) the day before. I hate the color in the hallway, so today I need to find a new color. My arms hurt, I worked up a good sweat. I was proud of myself. It's funny, when I am there alone, I do it all, but the second Jon is there, I notice that am bugging him to rinse things out, or reach the high spots, or other things I generally don't like to do, and then it is just wasting good time. So it works better when we are not there together. I'm a baby I guess!

The kids had a 1/2 day yesterday. Buffy went to a friend's house, while the other kids were upset about the injustice of them not having playdates. I wonder if that will ever change, because I am seriously considering no more playdates at all, because I hate the whining from the kids left over! I decided to take the to Los Compadres for dinner, something yummy, since life is kind of crazy right now. Plus I figured it would be so much easier with just 3 kids, instead of 4. Boy was I wrong. I mean nobody else in the restaurant probably noticed them being bad, but to me they were absolute terrors. I was ready to kill them. So we took up the whole back room. I sat with Cooper at a table, Chloe and Andy sat at their own tables. I was glad it was not busy so we could do this. Then I didn't allow any of them to speak to each other. I'm sure we looked insane, but I didn't care, I just could not listen to anymore fighting!!!

After dinner we went to Target, I needed to do something that would make me Happy, and Target always does the trick! We got home just in time to get ready for bed, and watch part of a cartoon. Cooper never took a nap yesterday, so I was able to put him to bed when all the other kids went to bed, and I am happy to say he was asleep by 7:45. The girls pulled their usual crap, but luckily I was gone most of the time so I didn't have to listen to it.

I really need to work today, but I am really wanting to go to the mall. I need to get a particular (rotten) sister a present for her birthday. And apparently, I can't just get her some cute shirts from Target (even though I thought she would love them). So who knows where today will lead me.

I know the 1st thing on my list, I missed the premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it recorded last night. So I am headed off to watch a show that is hilarious, but absolutely not intended for children!

Things I love...

I love music! I love how I can hear a snippit of a song, almost any song, and I know what it is. I love how a song can totally change my day. So today I will write about a few songs that I love, always & forever, and that I have actually listened today!

El Paso - Marty Robbins

Yeah! - Usher

It Ain't me Babe - Joaquin Phoenix & Reese Witherspoon

I do, I do, I do, I do, I do - Abba

Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf

Touch Me - The Doors

Perfect Situation - Weezer

'03 Bonnie & Clyde - Jay-Z

Crush - Dave Matthews Band

Now by no means is this all of my favorites, I don't have enough time to even try to compile that list. But you see that I have quite the eclectic taste, a little bit of everything... These are just ones I can actually think of, that I actually sang along to today.

Time well spent

So I might not like the fact that my last baby is out
of the house, but I'm not gonna sit around and cry about it all day. So today I got my carwashed, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't have anyone whining for a toy, or a treat. I was able to get a soda, because I wanted to, and I read 3 chapters of my book while I waited. I might very well get my carwashed every week now. I then headed over to Kohl's to return something I bought before our vacation, and it was fabulous wandering the whole store, looking at whatever I felt like. I then grabbed a salad and headed over to the school, where I sat in the parking lot, eating and reading for 15 minutes until Cooper got out. Man, life is good. Then when I got home this afternoon, I worked on this cake for my friend's baby shower. Yes, that is a cake made of diapers, with onesies, washcloths, binkies, bracelets... adorning it. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Jimmy came over tonight, he was having a hard day. So we cheered him up by
seeing whether or not any of us were smart enough to do this trick:

With your right leg, make a continuous clockwise
circle. Then with your right hand, make a continuous
counter clockwise circle. It is impossible, but
funny as heck to watch people try to do it!

I'm not ready

My heart is breaking. Cooper started school today. It took all I had to not cry. He was nervous, but was trying to be so strong. The kids were great about trying to get him excited. Andy kept telling him about all the fun lessons he would have...

We got into class before anyone else, and he looked at me and said "Mom, I don't know what I can make for my lunch." So I explained they would provide him a lunch, he was also concerned about where the phone was if he needed to call me.

I cried the whole way to my car and home, I miss him so much and it has only been an hour. I am so sad that my last one is old enough to be at school. Obviously I will get over this, and will begin to enjoy my 4 hours of freedom, but it was a huge turning point today. My Cooper isn't here with me, and I adore my Cooper, I need my Cooper.

I'm sure I will survive, but I am really wanting another one bad!!!

Check in later...

It's been a great weekend, but it's not over yet. I'll be back later today or tomorrow! Just a cute pic to help you get by...
