I love owls, and I am
loving that owls are "in"
this season. I found these darling shirts,
and it's hard to see, but that is an
owl necklace.

I also love shopping, especially when I have money to spend, and I can find things I really like. These are a few of my finds today, the dress isn't spectacular, but I loved the colors, it looks cute on, and it was only $15, so really, what could be better? This cute little mod jacket with the buttons I just fell in love with. I don't know what I am going to wear to church on Sunday now...

Summer Fun

The family
(and no Jon wasn't mad at me,
he just happened to sit on the wrong side)

Coop & Sarah had a blast
spitting water at each other

Jimmy kept getting in the way

while Cami & I were trying to take an

underwater picture

Cami, Trina, Stephy & I

in an above water shot

Just 2 of 15 pictures we tried

to take underwater

We finally had Jimmy hold Cami & I

down because we were both

way too buoyant(if you know what I mean)

The boys surprised Tyler on this one

Click here...you know you want to!

Ok, so I am back, but only to have you all go to my brother's blog and laugh your a$$e$ off. Enjoy it!

This is classic my family, man I love my brothers!

I might be a while...

Ok, I have a huge deadline looming ahead of me, and a ton of work cut out for me this week, so I may be vacant from here for a few days. I may also surprise myself, so don't completely go away.

We are having a big birthday party for my grandma Friday, and every family is supposed to do some sort of presentation. Cami & I are in charge of the 60's. I am having a hard time coming up with something creative, then I saw Johnny & Jimmy's video today, and I almost wet myself, so now I am really stressing. Anyhow, I just wanted to explain my absence ahead of time.

Hopefully I will still be able to get some pictures from the party this weekend posted, so check back in. I promise I'll be back!

My brain hurts too much to even try to think of a title. I am sick, I woke up Wednesday morning feeling under the weather. Not miserable, but enough to feel yucky. My body ached, my throat hurt, and my nose was a faucet (I hate that). I woke up yesterday feeling better, so I thought maybe it was a fluke. Then on our way to the show last night I started sniffling again, and by the end of the night my head was killing me. I still had a fabulous time, but felt blah. When I woke up this morning I felt like I got hit by a train last night in my sleep. My head hurts so bad, and my body. Then I did something really dumb, I laid back down after the kids went to school. That always makes me feel worse. So I am finally up and moving now, and I am feeling better, I can't wait to get in the shower, that always helps.

I am totally looking forward to Tyler's birhtday party tonight, the kids are so excited, and it will be a blast seeing everyone. Cooper is really looking forard to seeing Mr. T.

So I can't just have a whole post pretty much dedicated to my whining, so here is a little something. I was listening to this song yesterday, and was really wishing I was talented enough to write lyrics like this:

I want a chick with thick hips
Who licks her lips
She can be the office type
Or like to strip...

Seriously, it just rocks. Sing it, you know you want to! Oh yea, and that song totally reminds me of sitting in the jag (I think), waiting for the ferry to take us to Balboa, and Tyler cranking it up and playin cool in the front seat with the windows rolled down. Good times, good times...

Things I love...

We are going to see this tonight.
I love date night, especially when
it includes a fabulous show,
and fabulous friends!

I am eating a fresh one right now,
and I am in heaven.

And I obviously couldn't love the
show if I didn't love, love, love
these guys. I am a huge Abba fan,
since I was a little girl. My dad
always said that when I was 3
years old, I already knew all there
songs by heart, along with
Billy Joel's.

Yo Gabba Gabba

Ok, so it has cool guests, the Aquabats are involved, this fabulously amazing photographer's husband is a producer, but I am still not feelin' the love for this show. It really kind of bugs, if you know what I mean. And of course, Cooper loves it, he is watching it right now for the 3rd time since he woke up this morning. I think it will be right up there with the Upside Down Show, which also bugs. Those 2 guys just try way too hard to be crazy, if they would just tone it down a little, it would be great! Anyhow, hopefully I am not offending anyone, but it's not happenin for me, at least not yet. Maybe it will grow on me.

Once you go box...

The kids enjoying there (free)
hot dogs, sodas, chips &
desserts at the bar

The room, and
Cooper playing with the
treasure chest of toys they
brought in for the kids

The seats

Our own bathroom,
this was very exciting!!!

I am not sure if I will ever be able to go back to sitting in the seats for the peons, knowing there are people above me in the a/c rooms, having a fabulous night. I am not sure if baseball will ever be the same. A box seat is definitely on my list of things to get if I win the Powerball, and you are all invited!!! Thanks so much CW & Amy, it was a great night!

Choosing a wife

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.

The first does a total make over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon gets her hair done, new make up and buys several new outfits
and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more a attractive for him because she loves him so much.

The man was impressed.

The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.

Again, the man is impressed.

The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much.

Obviously, the man was impressed

The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.

Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.

Men are like that, you know.

High School Musical 2

So I am really excited now, not only is it just 10 1/2 hours til the premiere, but my mom's amazing neighbors, Michael & TC are letting us come over to watch it in their theater room. I am going to surprise the kids with new jammies when they get home, and get them some yummy treats. It is going to be a fun night. They have all been listening to the soundtrack on their i-pods, and I think the girls actually snuck them to school today. It cracks me up how crazy people get over a show, yes I am included in those people. Anyhow, Happy Friday!

Slightly uncomfortable.......(like not being able to look away from a horrible crash)

My brother is going to be featured on Cjane's blog tomorrow, I am freaking out. When he 1st called me to say he was going to be famous, I just assumed he had finally killed someone, when we got past that and he told me what was going on, I flipped. I am a loyal Cjane follower, in fact she once commented on my blog and I really thought that I should just retire from blogging right then, because honestly, does it get any more exciting than that? Of course the one day I didn't check it, is the day she has a little contest, and Johnny got picked. What are the odds?

He was going through a few of the questions with me because I was pretty curious and these are the answers he should have given, you can read the real ones tomorrow I guess.

What was your favorite part about growing up? (It may not be the exact question, but you get the jist of it)
Being a big brother to Kristy, who by the way totally rocks, and you should totally get to

How old were you when you had your 1st kid?
My fabulous sister Kristy was 21, so that would have made me blah-blah-blah (like I can really remember how old he was.!.).

What got you into blogging?
My sister has an awesome blog that you should totally check out daily, because she totally rocks!

Anyhow, that is how the interview should have gone, who knows what he will actually say for himself tomorrow, but totally tune in. And for those of you who don't normally, or have not had the chance to check in on John's or Cjane's, I highly recommend it. Good blogging to be had people!!!

You can't stop the Beat...

The kids had a 1/2 day today, so I finally took them to see Hairspray. Can I just say, absolutely fabulous. It was a total blast, and the music is fantastic. I already bought the soundtrack, and we are listening to it now.

Now I also have to say that I wasn't a huge fan of Zac Efron in High School musical, but he was darling in this movie, and from the sneak peeks of HSM2, I think he will be equally darling. My girls can't wait til Friday night for the premiere of HSM2, and honestly I am a little excited also. I bought that soundtrack today also, so the girl's can get a head start on learning the songs. We really wanted to have a premiere party, but I am not sure if it is gonna happen or not, but it will still be fun watching it with them.

Cumulonimbus Clouds

Last night we had a doozy of a storm pass through at about 2:00 a.m. until almost 3:15 a.m. Actually I don't know when it started precisely, but I do know when a loud, no deafening, actually ear-piercing noise ripped through our bedroom. We also lost electricity for a few moments, so Jon had to get up to reset his alarm clock.

When our evening began, it was just Jon and I in our room. This morning we had all of our children in there with us. Buffy was in there due to a bad dream, and she slept through the storm of the century. Cooper was in there for who knows what reason, but he slept through it also, although he woke up this morning talking about the storm that lit up the bedroom last night. Isn't that funny? Chloe and Andy came in together after one of the intense, lusty, powerful thunders hit again. I found out this morning that Chloe went in and woke up Andy, then they came in together. I have got to work on my kids not waking each other up.

I could not go back to sleep, I normally love Thunderstorms, but last night's actually freaked me out, and it is hard to instill calm in your children when you jump at every crackle or rip through the atmosphere.

It passed, things calmed down, and the children fell asleep. I found myself counting in between lightning and when the thunders hit, to see if they were getting farther away. At that moment I had my own personal lightning strike, a memory of when we took dad off of the life support, and I counted between his breaths, and they got farther and farther apart, until finally it just stopped. That day I did not feel calmness, I felt scared, and worried as my mom and sister were in the corner crying. I felt like I needed to be strong, and I was. Last night I felt calm, I have realized so many things over the last few years. So many things have changed in my life, that probably would not have, had dad still been here. Now I would still prefer him to be here, over having grown up, and becoming who I am today. But I am very thankful for the insight I have, for the opportunity to see the good out of that very bad situation.

I am thankful for my Heavenly Father, and for the wonderful storm he sent to my house last night, for the feeling it finally let me experience. I also want Molly to know, that my heart is with her, and she and her family are in my prayers.

to be cool...

Coop loved jumping off the deck!

I love this shot of Jon biffing it!

Crash! (This is the crash
that I lost my sunglasses in,
please have a moment of silence!)

We went to Canyon Lake today with Jon's cousin Aaron and their friend Kirk. It was a total blast, unfortunately my camera was being pissy, and more than half of the 400 pictures I took turned out blurry. I am getting sick of my camera's attitude. Besides that it was a great day. I can't wait to have our own boat, oh what a happy day that will be. I think we might go again with all the kids sometime soon, looking forward to it!

Come listen...

Johnny told me about this documentary today. I am dying to see it. He also told me about the end when David Johansen (aka Buster Poindexter) sings "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief." He says it is the coolest, I am actively searching for it, but I found a link to him singing "Come, Come ye Saints." Click here and give it a listen...

I have sneezed 37...
no wait...
38...39.................40.....41................42...43.......................................44 times since 7:00 this morning.

Now I have a question for all of you out there:

If you have told your husband/boyfriend/partner/loved one that you don't like roses, and yet one day he brings you home a dozen of them, would you be happy or mad?

I mean yes, it is sweet that he was thinking of you, but it also means that he wasn't listening when you said you don't like them, or he just plain doesn't remember.

Now this has not happened to me, I heard it on the radio, and I am very curious about what all of you would say. Speak up, let's have at it.

I have now sneezed 47 times. It's gonna be a good day.

Last night we went to see these guys with Brian & dorothy, not so much because we like them, but because they were free box seats. Brian asked what I was thinking when they invited us, and I told them "Honestly, you could have called and said we were going to see Kriss Kross. or a Cock Fight and we would have come." In between sets, when it was quiet and we could actually hear each other, we laughed as hard as usual, had chair races, made fun of all the people dancing... As always a great night with them. I can always tell if it has been a good night by how badly my face hurts from smiling & laughing all night. I think The Pretenders were the best, and we only stayed for 3 of Don Henley's songs, because only 1 out of the 3 was a good one, so we didn't feel like wasting anymore time on him. It was an interesting group of people, such a total clash of bands, I truly don't know why they would have put those 3 together. I was super ticked because they wouldn't let me bring my camera in, I was ready for some fun shots last night.

I am super tired now, because after we got home I stayed up until midnight to finish my book. Seriously you all need to read it, it was fabulous. Now I am anxious to get her other book. Well I need to start my day, maybe I'll drop in again later!

PC no more

This is soon to be mine. When we are back in our house, Jon has promised me one. I am super excited. I have not scrapbooked in months because Jon wouldn't let me download stuff anymore, when this baby is mine I will download to my heart's content! It took me a while to switch over to the dark side, but I am lovin it over here now. I never ever would have thought I would live to see the day that I was excited about getting my own Mac. I'm a Happy Mac.

P.S. I think he is gonna get me the big one, you're so jealous!!!

Back 2 School

The kids are back in school, Cooper doesn't start until September 17th, so it is back to Mom & Cooper time. We have easily switched back to our routine, snuggling on the couch in the mornings after the kids head off to school. A yummy lunch somewhere, lots of errands, and Cooper having fun alone time. It feels good to be back on a schedule, life is almost normal again. I even cooked for the 1st time since our vacation it seems like. I am ready to go at it again, so check out my new post here.

I can't believe it is August 7th, and I just had Pink Bubblegum ice cream for the 1st time this summer. It was $1 scoop night at Baskin Robbins, so we headed off to meet our friends. Yummy! The kids are in the shower, and I am ready for them to be in bed, so I can finish this fabulous book I am reading. I highly recommend it. The screaming in the shower has begun so I must make a hasty exit, farewell til tomorrow!

Birthday Dinner

We always go out to dinner, just adults to celebrate birthdays. This month is Amber & Tyler's, so we all got our Hepatitis boosters and headed off to the Cheesecake Factory. My Aunt & Uncle are in town from Missouri, so them and their daughter joines us also. We had a great night, everyone was in a great mood. Afterward we headed over to mom's to hang out for the rest of the night. It had been over a month since we had all been together, so it was a lot of fun, and we had a lot of catching up to do!

I hate thinking of clever titles, I think I have mentioned this before. So I just picked a favorite word.

Life is crazy this week. I am sooooooo ready for the kids to go back to school on Monday. I love them, but it has been a long summer (even though it has been really short). Went to Friday movie today, the kids, no scratch that, Cooper was a pill. There was a moron man sitting in front of me as far back as I have ever seen a chair recline, so I was totally stressing out about kids bumping his seat, etc. etc...

We headed to Jon's for lunch, the kids were nuts. Coop fell asleep on the way home, and the girls are insanely riding their bikes in this heat, Andy is happy on the XBOX, so I actually have a moment.

I am so excited to go out tonight, it has been a while, and I am looking forward to dinner with my fam. I can't wait to laugh, and we might even sneak in a movie. Yippee!

Now to all of you out there, when my girls grow up and are of the babysitter age, I hope you all will let me know if they are good sitters, if they are polite to the parents, if they are respectful... There are a few girls I have used, that are none of the above. We have had one make some very mean remarks about my daughter, to us! We have had one that has now cancelled on us twice, without any explanation. I know my kids are no angels, but they aren't terrorists either. You just have to be willing topay attention to them, and play, instead of just sitting on your butts! I am sorry , but I hate not being able to find a sitter, or having whiny teenage girls not give you a reason why they can't. When I was a kid, I would babysit for anyone, whether I wanted to or not. My parents taught me right. That's how it will be with my kids, they will not say no, unless they truly have somehting going on. They will be kind & respectful & will play with the kids. I miss the Shinn's!

I just realized I went off big time, I am so sorry.

I have to end with something funny, hmmmmmm, what shall it be? ..........................Oh, I know. Something I bet none of you know, well not none of you, but alot of you. I broke a girls nose my junior year during our Powder Puff game. It was awesome, I don't regret it at all. The juniors needed to win. I had the ball, she latched on, I shoved my elbow into her face. I didn't plan on breaking it, that was just the outcome. Does that make me evil? Do you all hate me now? I'm sure some of you will find it humorous. Enjoy

One thing I never longed for when I was younger was different hair. I loved it's fiery redness, the natural wave it had, the total thickness of it. It served me well during my years of wooing, truly red heads have more fun, quit fooling yourselves blondes!

Recently I have been very unhappy, after a few years of not fabulous haircuts, and problems with styling, I had all but given up on having great hair ever again. I even colored it a few times(the horrror, I know, Jimmy would refer to me as goth Kristy). It was fun, and since I have dark eyebrows I could pull it off, but I was always excited to get back to my red.

Just before vacation I went to a new stylist, she rocked. She actually cut it how I wanted, and was able to add a few things I hadn't thought of. As I walked past the mirror today, I did a double take, I think me great hair days may be back. Of course only when I have the time and energy to make it great, but I love knowing it is possible.

Yes, this is very narcissistic of me, but I am loving my hair today, so deal with it!

Dont-cha wish your hairstyle was hot like mine? Dont-cha? Dont-cha?
